Lucy Pulvers “Kusama Yayoi”

$590.00

26x30cm, ink on mat board, framed.

Kusama Yayoi (1929- ) A living contemporary artist who is now considered the most important living Japanese artist. Kusama is the world’s top-selling female artist. Kusama works in painting, drawing and sculpture but is also famous for her installation art, or ‘infinity rooms’. Kusama is open about her mental health condition and has lived in a facility for psychiatric patients in Japan since the 1970s when she returned from a period of living and working in New York. Kusama’s work replicates the way she experiences her vivid hallucinations. In this drawing I picture her with her most often repeated image of a pumpkin.
